Probes
Probes are very important for strategic reasons because you can perform scouting missions with them to gather information about your enemies and your potential targets. Booster rockets are needed for the launching of probes (1 booster rocket is required for the launching of an plasmator probe, and 2 booster rockets are needed for other probes). After launching, the probe automatically finds its orbit around the target planet. Probes cannot be sent to planets that are significantly (50% or more) weaker than the probe owner’s planet. But weaker planets can send probes to stronger planets. If the target planet is equipped with PDSs (which function automatically), it cannot be probed. One PDS can destroy only one probe because the PDS unit self-destructs in the process. Once a planet has lost all of its PDSs, the probes will start collecting information. Types of probes:- Booster rocket
- Plasmator probe
- Planetary probe
- Ship Probe
- Planetary Defense Spy probe
- Military probe
- Information probe
On the Probes Production page, you can find all the types of probes that can be used by your species. Those which you have the technological background to build will appear in bold letters in the chart. The other non-bolded choices require a higher technology level than you possess. Metal, Crystal, Narion – In these columns you can find the raw materials that you will need for manufacturing probes. The numbers underneath show the amount of raw material needed for manufacturing a single probe. The cost of manufacturing the probe will be deducted from your raw material stock (metal, crystal, narion). Time – This column showsthe number of rounds needed to complete manufacture of the probe. The production time is specified in rounds. Every round takes 60 minutes. Current Count – Here you can see how many probes of each type you have. Set for Production – You will find an empty box under Set for Production on the right side for the different types of probes you can manufacture. Here you enter how many probes of that type you would like to manufacture. This is also the field you will have to fill out for calculation purposes prior to manufacture. Available – Here you can check the current status of your raw material stock by type (metal, crystal, narion), and you can see the quantity available. Production Cost – Here, after pressing the “Calculate” button, you will see the cost in raw materials for the probes that you have chosen to make based on the requested quantity and type. Score – Here you can see how many points you get for manufacturing the probes in the quantity and type you chose. You can see your score by filling in the requested fields then clicking Calculate. Calculate – You can calculate the cost of manufacture of the probes you need and the score you can get as well. But first you have to enter the number of probes you wish to manufacture in the field for each type. To start the calculation, click on Calculate. Manufacture – Click on this button to start manufacturing.
